- Chapter 5 - Testing the Power of the Iron Gloves
“As the saying goes, ‘All beginnings are hard,’ but I’ve started with good luck. This is an excellent sign! I can’t let my luck go to waste. Botu, you and your son are going to die!” Luo Lan thought with secret delight.
Since he had luckily drawn a good item, he naturally needed to test its power.
He looked at his maid, Weir.
At this moment, Weir was wearing a coarse linen apron, crouching in a corner of the room, washing the bamboo tubes and wooden spoons they had just eaten from!
Weir was tall and voluptuous, with well-defined, full facial features, possessing all the virtues of a woman.
As she crouched there, her pear-shaped figure was fully exposed from behind, causing Luo Lan’s imagination to run wild.
However, he immediately chuckled. This woman was inherently his; getting what he wanted was just a matter of a single word from him, so he wasn’t in a hurry.
Thinking this, he said, “Weir, stay home. I’m going out for a bit and will be right back!”
Hearing that Luo Lan was going out, Weir immediately stood up, turned around, and ran to Luo Lan’s side. She said, “Master, where are you going? Your body hasn’t fully recovered yet. Let Weir help you with whatever it is!”
“It’s nothing, I’m perfectly fine! I’m just going for a walk, that’s all! Don’t worry, just rest well at home!” Luo Lan said unequivocally.
“Then… then Weir will prepare bath water for you at home, so you can bathe when you return!” Weir thought for a moment and said.
Hearing this, a scene of a maid serving her master in a bath immediately appeared in Luo Lan’s mind, which made him feel a little anticipation.
So he nodded silently and said, “Just get it ready. I’ll bathe when I return!”
“Mhm, Weir will wait for Master to return and prepare Master’s bath!” Weir said happily.
With that, Luo Lan turned and headed towards the forest behind.
Their tribe originally had a good gathering place, but it was invaded by orcs, leading to their homeland being occupied.
Their current location was just a temporary encampment, and a group of tribesmen still wanted to return to their original home.
However, this was extremely difficult now. Their tribe, even at its peak, was no match for the orcs.
How could a group of crippled soldiers and defeated generals be a match for the orcs now? Unless Luo Lan upgraded their weapons and equipment, it would be impossible.
And this was clearly not something that could be accomplished overnight. He had to first establish his footing in the tribe.
As he thought this, he arrived at the dense forest behind the tribe.
The forest was sparsely populated, harboring many unknown beasts, and was extremely dangerous. Ordinary people dared not enter it.
So Luo Lan didn’t dare to go too deep, only daring to move around the periphery.
His main purpose was to avoid Botu’s watchful eyes and test his alloy exoskeleton gloves.
Once the test was complete, he could return.
Finding a relatively spacious clearing, Luo Lan immediately used his consciousness to summon the alloy exoskeleton gloves he had drawn.
With a thought, an invisible light emanated from both of his hands.
Immediately after, his hands automatically donned a pair of mechanical gloves made of an unknown alloy material.
These gloves were larger than he expected, and very light. He barely felt them on his hands!
As expected of an alien, ultra-high-tech product. This thing, let alone in this world where technology was incredibly backward, was like a divine artifact even in his previous life.
“Let me see if I can really lift objects 5 times my own weight!!?”
Luo Lan muttered to himself, his gaze shifting to a large rock not far away.
His body was 1.88 meters tall and weighed 160 pounds. Five times his weight would be 800 pounds. With such strength, even an Olympic weightlifting champion couldn’t achieve it!
Without hesitation, he walked over to the large rock and wrapped his hands around the spherical stone, which was about one meter in diameter.
With a stone of such a large volume, in the past, it would have been difficult to even budge it, let alone lift it!
But what Luo Lan didn’t expect at this moment was that as he exerted himself, the large rock actually began to loosen.
Then, with his effort, he actually lifted it up.
From a few inches off the ground, to a meter off the ground, then to his chest, and finally, he directly lifted it above his head.
“Hahaha, as expected of an ultra-high-tech product! With these gloves, I’m a strongman with a thousand pounds of strength. With this strength, killing Botu won’t be difficult at all!!” Luo Lan laughed excitedly.
With that, he forcefully flexed his waist and threw the large rock he had lifted above his head with all his might.
The massive stone crashed into the forest about ten meters away with a whistling sound, then broke a tree as thick as a bucket.
The tall tree crashed down, raising a cloud of dust in the forest.
And this great commotion also startled the wild beasts living nearby.
Immediately, a series of low growls from wild beasts came from the nearby forest.
Immediately after, a rapid thudding sound came from not far away.
Based on the body’s previous experience, Luo Lan immediately judged that a wild beast was charging towards him.
Sure enough, just then, a black-furred pig-beast rushed out from where the tree had fallen earlier, heading straight for Luo Lan.
That spot was this pig-beast’s lair, and it seemed to want to retaliate against Luo Lan for destroying its lair!
Pig-beasts were common wild beasts in this world. Their fur was quite tough.
They had a pair of goat-like horns on their heads to attack enemies and were quite dangerous!
However, its meat was very delicious, making it one of the beasts most favored by humans for hunting.
Although pig-beasts were one of the wild beasts most favored by humans for hunting, it didn’t mean they were easy to bully.
A normal adult human was no match for an adult pig-beast.
Humans usually hunted by setting traps or ambushing them together.
If one encountered a pig-beast alone, the best strategy was usually to run away as fast as possible!
However, due to the suddenness of the situation, Luo Lan had no time to escape, and he didn’t want to escape either.
His purpose in coming out was to test the power of the alloy exoskeleton gloves. Now that there was an opportunity for actual combat, how could he be willing to miss it?
Moreover, they had been lacking food recently. If he could kill this pig-beast, he and Weir would not lack food for a week.
This would also greatly benefit him in dealing with Botu.
Thus, instead of fleeing, he straightened his back and charged towards the pig-beast like a fierce beast.
Seeing a human dare to charge at it, the pig-beast roared even more furiously, its eyes turning red.
It lowered its head, raised the pair of horns on its head, and charged fiercely at Luo Lan!
