The few drops of Su Mingyue’s fresh blood, imbued with ultimate yang power, were like scorching brands falling upon ice and snow. As they splattered onto the stone door covered with golden talismans, they immediately erupted with dazzling light!

“Sizzle—Boom!”

A dull roar, accompanied by violent tremors, emanated from the stone door! The golden talismans, which had been slowly flowing, instantly flared with intense light as if ignited gunpowder, then quickly dimmed, emitting a series of “cracking” sounds like shattering glass. The entire space at the bottom of the well violently shook along with it. Above,碎 stones and dust constantly rained down, as if it could collapse at any moment.

Su Mingyue stood firmly in place. No matter how the ground beneath her swayed, her figure remained like a bedrock, unmoving. Her gaze was fixed on the stone door, sharp and serious. She could feel that as the golden talismans shattered, an even denser, more evil, and colder aura than before surged wildly from behind the stone door! That aura carried a suffocating sense of oppression that made Su Mingyue’s heart tremble slightly.

“Crack… crack…”

The cracks on the stone door grew more numerous and larger. Finally, after a deafening roar, the heavy stone door burst open!

A chilling wind, mixed with a strong scent of decay and bone-piercing coldness, surged out from behind the door, making Su Mingyue’s clothes flap violently, almost blinding her.

As the cold wind subsided, Su Mingyue looked intently. Even with her vast experience, her pupils contracted slightly, startled by the sight behind the door!

Behind the stone door was not a cave or an underground palace as she had imagined, but an unimaginably vast underground space! This circular space was several soccer fields in size. The dome soared high, with no visible end. The surrounding walls were covered with densely packed, twisted, and bizarre black runes, emitting an unsettling aura.

In the center of this massive space, the most striking feature was a gigantic coffin, entirely black, made of an unknown material! The black coffin was over three zhang long and more than one zhang wide. It floated quietly in mid-air, its surface smooth as a mirror, yet emitting a deathly silence that seemed capable of swallowing all light.

Even more startling was that countless thick, arm-sized black chains, shimmering with an eerie glow, extended from the surrounding walls and the dome! These chains were dense and intricate, like a spiderweb, binding and restraining the massive black coffin in mid-air, layer upon layer. Each chain was pulled taut, as if desperately suppressing some terrifying entity within the coffin.

“This is…” Su Mingyue’s heart pounded. She could feel that the black coffin emitted a terrifying aura that made even her feel a sense of dread! That aura was stronger and more evil than any demon or monster she had encountered before!

She instinctively activated her spiritual eyes again, wanting to see through the black coffin’s true nature. However, this time, her spiritual eyes failed! The surface of the black coffin was surrounded by a thick, opaque black mist. The mist, as if alive, constantly rolled and writhed, completely blocking her vision, making it impossible for her to see what was inside the coffin.

“Even my spiritual eyes can’t see through it?” Su Mingyue’s heart sank. This was the first time she had encountered such a situation.

Just as Su Mingyue was in shock, an unexpected change occurred!

The spider demon, which had been curled up in the corner, suddenly let out an excited and sharp hiss, as if summoned. It transformed into a wisp of black smoke and shot like lightning towards the black coffin floating in mid-air!

“Whoosh—”

The black smoke was incredibly fast. Su Mingyue couldn’t even stop it in time. The spider demon crashed into the thick black mist surrounding the black coffin, instantly disappearing as if it had merged with it! Immediately after, the black mist around the black coffin violently churned, becoming even denser. The eerie aura emanating from it also intensified, becoming several times stronger than before!

“Not good!” Su Mingyue cried out inwardly. She knew that the spider demon had probably returned to its “master,” and might even have become nourishment for the entity within the coffin, increasing its power!

Before Su Mingyue could react further, an even more astonishing change occurred!

“Clang! Clang! Clang!—”

A jarring metallic screech echoed as the countless black chains that had been motionless, binding the black coffin, suddenly came alive! Like tens of thousands of awakened venomous snakes, they instantly straightened from all directions, then, with whistling sounds of cutting through the air, wildly wrapped around Su Mingyue, who was standing at the stone door!

These black chains were incredibly fast and numerous, covering the sky and earth, almost blocking all of Su Mingyue’s escape routes! Each chain shimmered with eerie runes, emitting a strange power that imprisoned everything!

“Excellent!” Su Mingyue, instead of being startled, became angry, her fighting spirit soaring in her eyes. She let out a soft cry, and the peach wood sword in her hand instantly danced into a blur of light and shadow, blocking each of the chains that attacked first.

“Clang! Clang! Ding! Ding!”

The peach wood sword, empowered by talismans, collided with the black chains, producing a series of crisp metallic clangs, sending sparks flying! Su Mingyue’s figure was elusive, twisting and turning, weaving through the dense rain of chain attacks. The peach wood sword in her hand was wielded with incredible skill, each strike precisely hitting the weak points of the chains.

However, these black chains were simply too many and incredibly tough. Although Su Mingyue’s peach wood sword could temporarily force them back, it could not sever them. What was even more troublesome was that these chains seemed endless. After being forced back, immediately more chains surged from all directions, their attacks growing more fierce with each wave!

Su Mingyue gradually began to feel strained. Although her Daoist magic was profound and her body extraordinary, facing such an overwhelming number of attacks, she inevitably found herself stretched thin. Moreover, she could feel that the binding force attached to these chains was constantly eroding her magic power, making each swing of her sword heavier than the last.

“This won’t do!” Su Mingyue’s mind raced. She had to get rid of these entangling chains as soon as possible, otherwise, once her magic power was depleted, the consequences would be unimaginable. Her eyes narrowed, preparing to use some of her hidden trump cards to forcefully break through this chain formation.

However, just as she was about to activate the stronger magic power within her—

Another anomaly occurred!

The hard rock ground beneath her feet suddenly cracked without any warning! A gigantic chain, even thicker and blacker than the other chains, shimmering with even more bizarre runes, shot out from the cracked ground like a tentacle emerging from the abyss of hell!

The timing of this chain’s appearance was incredibly cunning; it struck precisely when Su Mingyue’s old strength was exhausted and new strength had yet to form! And its speed was unimaginably fast, carrying a terrifying, suffocating power!

Su Mingyue’s heart pounded in alarm. She wanted to dodge, but it was already too late!

“Swish!”

The massive black chain that emerged from underground, like a venomous snake striking, coiled around Su Mingyue’s waist with incredible precision! Immediately after, the chain tightened violently! An irresistibly powerful binding force instantly spread throughout Su Mingyue’s body!

She felt her entire body stiffen, and the magic power within her seemed to be instantly frozen; she couldn’t muster even a hint of it! The peach wood sword in her hand also clanged as it fell to the ground.

“Damn it!” Su Mingyue was greatly alarmed. She had never imagined that such a sinister sneak attack was hidden underground! She tried to struggle, but the black chain wrapped around her waist tightened even further. The strange runes on it shimmered with an eerie light, continuously draining her strength. At the same time, the black chains attacking from all directions seized the opportunity, swarming over her, tightly wrapping and binding her limbs, neck, and even her hair!

In an instant, Su Mingyue was bundled like a zongzi by countless black chains, unable to move! In her bright eyes, for the first time, appeared genuine astonishment and a hint of… disbelief.

She, Su Mingyue, had lived for countless years, traversing the Three Realms and Six Paths (though mostly mingling in the mortal realm), and had never been so helpless as she was today! To be… to be bound by these ghostly things!
