Su Guoguo felt that the most annoying person in the world was Su Qiuqiu, who was one year younger than her.

“Don’t let Su Qiuqiu come to our house!” Su Guoguo protested.

“Be polite, call her paternal aunt,” Sang Wuyan corrected her.

“Guoguo only has a paternal uncle, no paternal aunt,” Su Guoguo continued her nonsensical protest. The paternal uncle she referred to was Xiao Jie. And Su Qiuqiu was the biological daughter of Yu Weilan and Su Huaishan. Su Huaishan had a daughter late in life at sixty, so naturally, she was spoiled rotten.

“My brother-in-law really spoils Qiuqiu like a crab; she can walk sideways on the road,” Yu Xiaolu said.

“Don’t you think it’s a family trait?” Saying that, Sang Wuyan gave Yu Xiaolu a “you know what I mean” look. Yu Xiaolu immediately raised both hands in agreement.

After a while, Yu Xiaolu went to the restroom, and Sang Wuyan went to refill the water. Less than a minute after she left, she heard Su Qiuqiu crying. Sang Wuyan rushed back to the living room. She saw Su Qiuqiu crying loudly by the game mat slide, while Su Guoguo stood blocking her, unmoving.

“What’s wrong?”

“She was disobedient,” Su Guoguo said righteously.

“Did you hit Qiuqiu?”

“Teacher said children should line up for the slide. She didn’t listen just now, so I had to educate her,” saying that, Su Guoguo raised her hand again and slapped her paternal aunt’s little bottom.

Sang Wuyan, seeing this, scolded, “Stop right there!” At the same time, she grabbed Guoguo and pulled her half a meter away from Su Qiuqiu. She pulled a little hard, causing her daughter to almost fall to the ground.

Su Guoguo was startled at first, then after being pulled up by her mother and standing properly, she started throwing a tantrum. Her way of throwing a tantrum was to lie down on the floor, then roll around and cry.

“Su Guoguo, are you trying that trick again? Get up!”

“No.”

“I’ll count to three. If you’re still rolling on the floor, I’m going to spank you. 1—2—” Sang Wuyan was getting a little angry. “I’m going to count to 3 now.”

“Wah—Mommy hit me, Mommy hit me, I want Daddy!”

And so, even before Su Nianqin entered the door, he heard both children in the house crying loudly.

“What’s wrong?” he asked, taking off his suit jacket.

Both children, as if they had found their savior, ran to him.

“Daddy, hug!”

“Brother, hug!”

The two chubby kids, totaling almost sixty pounds, clung to him. He embraced one with each arm and sat down on the sofa. “Alright, report, what have my princesses been doing?”

“Guoguo hit me.”

“Mommy hit me.”

Su Nianqin’s lips curved into a smile. He raised an eyebrow and said, “Kiss me, and no one will be angry anymore.”

As soon as he finished speaking, two chubby, soft, drooling kisses rushed onto Su Nianqin’s face. He tilted his head towards Sang Wuyan and said, “Is there still one princess left?”

Sang Wuyan smiled and walked closer to Su Nianqin, leaned down, and lightly pecked his lips.

Xiao Qin stood at the door, Su Nianqin’s jacket draped over her arm, watching the scene inside, and couldn’t help but marvel at how perfectly her boss had mastered the art of sweet-talking.

Sang Wuyan invited her to dinner, but Xiao Qin smiled and waved goodbye.

Yu Xiaolu came out of the restroom, “I was just wondering why the roof was almost torn off by those two little rascals, and then it suddenly got quiet. Turns out the savior has arrived.”

Su Nianqin asked, “When will they arrive?”

“They’re all on their way.”

After a while, the first to arrive was Sang Mama, who had gone to buy toys for the children, followed by Su Huaishan, Yu Weilan, and Xiao Jie. After dinner, everyone went back to their respective homes, while Sang Mama stayed to take care of Guoguo. Sang Wuyan and Su Nianqin went to a hotel.

“Why is Grandma sleeping with me, and Mommy has to go out with Daddy?” Su Guoguo asked.

“It’s because Mommy and Daddy have to go out, so Grandma specially came to stay with Guoguo,” Sang Wuyan corrected.

“Why isn’t Mommy taking Guoguo for her birthday?”

“It’s not that she’s not taking Guoguo, it’s just that…” Sang Wuyan thought for a moment, “Because Mommy is getting old again, she needs…” She couldn’t make up any more.

“Needs Daddy to cast some magic,” Su Nianqin said.

Sang Wuyan secretly glanced at Su Guoguo and patted Su Nianqin’s back.

However, it was extremely rare that he would think of going to a hotel for their private celebration on her birthday, instead of just having a family reunion dinner.

The hotel was on a mountaintop in the near suburbs. Sang Wuyan drove herself to the destination. Although she had a small expectation, when he opened the door, she saw white rose petals covering the floor from the entrance hall to the bedroom, and she couldn’t help but gasp.

Sang Wuyan took off her shoes, stepped barefoot with Su Nianqin onto the petals, and walked to the living room coffee table, where there were also white roses.

She chuckled, unable to stop exclaiming, then kissed her husband.

Su Nianqin took out a necklace and put it on her, “Happy eighteenth birthday to my princess.”

Sang Wuyan burst out laughing.

“But next year, I’ll be nineteen,” she said, pouting her lips slightly, gently complaining.

“Next year, you’ll still be eighteen.”

“The year after next?”

“Still the year after next.”

“The year after that?”

“Still.”

“Su Nianqin,” she said, beaming, “you’re so cheesy.”

“Isn’t that what they do in movies? You don’t like it?”

“Who said that!” she exclaimed. “The cheesier, the more I like it.”

“But…” she hesitated again.

“Hmm?”

“You’re improving so fast; it gives me a real sense of crisis,” she said, cupping his face.

“It’s not too late to realize it now,” he chuckled.

“You wouldn’t dare!”

“Actually, what I most wanted to give you wasn’t this.”

“There’s more?” she exclaimed.

“I wrote a song for you,” Su Nianqin said with a smile.

“Wow—” This was truly a surprise, because Sang Wuyan knew he hadn’t done this in a long time.

“Sing it to me,” Sang Wuyan said, looking expectant.

“However,” Su Nianqin slowly kissed her back, “I feel like something is still missing.”

“What?”

“And the princess has to cast some magic first…” Su Nianqin said.
